Retroactive Store - Information and Policies
We try to be as clear and accurate as possible in describing the games we sell, highlighting noticeable flaws and imperfections, but it must be accepted that all used games will have some age-related wear and tear. We provide two ratings - "Condition" refers the condition of the contents, while "Box" refers to the condition of box lid, bottom and inlay.
Both of these ratings use the same assessment scale:
We never list games with poor contents but occasionally we may list a very rare game with a poor box. If we state that a box is "structurally sound" then every box corner and side is intact with no repairs (e.g. tape).
All games are thoroughly checked against the contents list for completeness. If we state "The game is complete - everything listed in the contents is in the box" then that game is 100% complete - the right number of each type of component have been counted and checked. Therefore, we do not list out the contents. If we state "The game is complete" then, although no contents list was provided with the game, our research shows the contents are also 100% complete. Components are bagged in plastic polygrip bags. Sometimes cards cannot be placed in a plastic bag because they will not fit back into the plastic inlay which would risk damage - in these cases a lightly fitting rubber band is used. All games come with the original rules unless it explicitly states that the rules are a scan or copy.
We do not operate a shopping cart system - if you want to buy multiple items and consolidate into one order, contact us. We will reserve the games you are interested in while we work out the best shipping options.
Payment is only via PayPal.
At the time of transaction PayPal will send you a receipt, which will list the game, its price and shipping charge. If you accepted the free offer this will also be stated on the receipt. You will also receive a notification from us when we dispatch the game.
Your order is important and we want the game to be delivered in exactly the same condition as it left us. Your order is carefully packed in layers of bubble wrap and brown paper. If required, additional cardboard will be added to provide greater protection and support for the game.
Typically, your item(s) will be dispatched within 1-2 days upon receipt of the order. As we are a small family business (see About Us) any travel or other commitments may result in a dispatch time of 3-5 days or a specified date when orders will be sent. The current dispatch time is displayed on the Mailing tab.
UK customers are provided with a price for delivery, normally using Collect+, although other services are available on request. See Delivery Information for more details. Worldwide customers must e-mail us so we can work out the best delivery option - we will reserve a game or game(s) while we undertake this process. All delivery options are sufficiently insured in case of loss in transit.
For expensive or oversize games we use UPS courier. We have used this company for years; they have a depot close to us and have always collected on time and delivered next day.
We make no profit on mailing the game to you. The mailing charge consists of the cost of bubble wrap and brown paper, which is dependent on the dimensions of the game, and the delivery charges. Unless two games happen to have similar weight and dimensions, each game has a unique mailing charge. This applies to all our customers, including those outside the UK.
If you are unhappy with you purchase we strongly recommend you contact us first so we can try to fix the problem. We do accept returns but as we are a small family business we regret we cannot cover your costs of the return postage. We try to be as clear and accurate as possible in describing the games we sell to avoid disappointment and are always happy to provide additional information on any stock item.
We are aware of a problem with the Buy button in some versions of Microsoft's Internet Explorer browser: it fails to click-through to PayPal. This is a problem with the browser itself; the button works perfectly in other browsers such as Firefox and Chrome. If the Buy button fails to work in your browser please contact us - we can reserve the game for you and send a PayPal invoice.
